Rob has been a perfusionist in Redding since 1999. He is currently the chief perfusionist at both local hospitals, SRMC and Mercy. He did his undergraduate work at University of Utah and Chico State University where he graduated with a BS in marketing and science. He did his perfusion training at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, with rotations at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and University of Cincinnati Hospital. Rob was an early adopter in platelet rich plasma (PRP) technology and was one of the first in the north state to use it in the operating room for open heart surgery patients. Alongside Dr. Davis, he uses PRP to treat various skeletal muscular injuries. He also uses PRP techniques for various anti-aging cosmetic related procedures. Rob has had the opportunity to travel for perfusion related medical advancements, and to educate other perfusionists on the latest operating room medical devices and techniques. He and his wife Kathy, own Shasta Heart Smart, a medically managed metabolic Ideal Protein weight loss clinic. During his free time, you will find him playing his guitar in a local band, cycling, hiking, boating, snow shoeing, or finding the latest microbrew creation.
